I went into this personal challenge with great excitement. But then, reality intruded as it often does. You see, along with beginning this AWESOME challenge, our schedule suddenly became full. October brought indoor sports, Chess Club, coop, a heavier homeschool schedule, and other homeschool group activities.
On top of this, we had our kitchen sink become unusable for a few days, and yucky colds hit. Life suddenly became stressful. Something had to go. This challenge was the obvious thing to drop.
Am I disappointed? Not really. It’s important for us to know when we need to simplify, and when our priorities need to shift. What I did gain was some fun memories such as the egg faces which the kids loved. I also got some cute projects done.
I’ll definitely be doing more Pinterest inspired posts here and there. In fact, I actually did another project, but haven’t had time to write the post for it. I made an adorable fall wreath, and I’ll share that soon. Plus, the other post I had planned based on a pretty shade of hair color. I did get my hair done, but have yet to stop and take a nice photo. Again, I’ll get to it soon.
And let’s not forget the yummy Pinterest inspired soup recipe I tried during this challenge, too. All in all, I enjoyed the challenge, and if I decide to do it next October, I’ll start working on the series in June. Maybe July.
