Thank you Karen Blaha for the use of your photo.
Welcome to day one of the “Summer is Flying By” Reading Challenge! Chrystiana and I have had a blast putting this together. We have ideas for all eight of the mini-challenges already. Remember, the mini-challenges are not a requirement to be eligible for the prize. All you need is a kick-off post linked up before the linky closes and a wrap-up post linked up (linky not posted yet for these) at the end before the deadline for the drawing.
We think the mini-challenges will be fun, and we hope you join in at least some of them. Remember, new mini-challenges come out each Friday. You might want to subscribe so you don’t miss any of the mini-challenges or the finale. The subscription box is over in the sidebar to the right at the top.
You can also blog along the way if you’d like, but please add a link to the comments, so we can come read about your progress and what books you’re reading. We can always use new book suggestions! If you blog about a specific mini-challenge, add a link to the comments for that mini-challenge’s post. For example, if you choose to blog about today’s challenge, come back and link in the comments on this here post. Clear as a book cover?
So, without further adieu, here is Mini-Challenge #1:
Today’s mini-challenge is to read a book with a title that starts with each letter in the word SUMMER. Disregard A, An, or The at the beginning of the titles. For example:
S – Sadie-in-Waiting by Annie Jones
U –
M – Maggie by Charles Martin
M –
E –
R – (The) Restorer by Sharon Hinck
This can be a book, eBook, children’s book (your kids would love that), fiction, non-fiction, or even a book you’ve read before. We’re not picky! Also, if you have a hard time finding one that starts with the letter U, Goodreads has a list that might help.
Now, have some reading fun!!
Here’s a button if you want one for your blog post and/or sidebar:

I guess I did the hardest letter first. I have my “U” book, but nothing I’m currently reading fits the other letters of summer. I guess I need to find some more books. ๐

Good job tackling the U letter first, and having to find more books to read can never be a bad thing, right? ๐

I’m late getting my kick-off post up, so I combined the first mini-challenge with it. Needing to find a book with a “U” title, I was prompted to start reading one that had been on my Kindle for awhile – I just needed the reminder to get going with it! ๐

I love that you were inspired to read one you’ve had for a while. I’m still choosing my books, and I forgot to check my own Kindle library to see if I have a U. ๐ Thanks for joining our challenge. ๐
