Go:
Life can hit hard. One minute things are good, we’re walking out normal days, and wham, we get knocked over. It takes courage to get back up, to move forward. Turning our faces to God in these moments can give us the strength to stand, to move forward, to do the hard things that seem impossible. Like forgiving something horrendous. Or speaking truth even though some may turn not just from it, but from you.
I have learned that at life’s most toughest moments, God is faithful. Faithful to guide, to hold, to carry, to lift up. His peace flows over you and you can find joy in the darkness. Immeasurable.
Life rubs hard. It’s rough, but through that rubbing, that exposing, God brings a high shine. A thing of beauty. A polished gem.
Stop.
This post is inspired by The Gypsy Mama. She posts a word on Fridays, and we have five minutes to free-write whatever comes to our heart, our minds. Today’s word is grit.

Nice job, aren’t these five minute Fridays fun? I ended up at a pearl, too, like your idea of a thing of beauty, a polished gem. The Lord does His work in us, through all the tough spots. Some of my favorite verses are the “He is Able” ones. Encouraging, thanks.

A polished stone. A pearl. They nicely capture how life roughs us up and if we follow Christ we eventually get to be a polished stone. Love the image….do you have kids? reminds me of Max Lucado’s catepillar Hermie. God keeps telling Hermie, ” I’m not finished with you yet.”

“Life rubs hard. It’s rough, but through that rubbing, that exposing, God brings a high shine.” This is the walking out of our salvation… the part that, while we are going through it is so unpleasant… yet it yields a harvest of righteousness… that we may become sharers in His own holiness… and this, only by His grace…
I love the imagery… beautiful…

Yes, Michele-Lyn, a walking out of our salvation. Thank you.
Denise, thank you for visiting. Faith can be tough because of the not seeing, not knowing. It’s so nice to be able to put our trust into a God who loves us.

“I have learned that at life’s most toughest moments, God is faithful.” This is so true. It’s hard to see with our eyes sometimes, but faith is believing in what we cannot see with our eyes. And I have experienced, when in my own pits, the faithfulness of God.
This is a beautiful post.
