I actually started this post early Monday morning, but then left for my doctor’s appointment (poison oak woes), took my son out to another town to drop paperwork off, had lunch with him, and dropped him at work, came home, discovered my other son woke up with a poison oak rash on his face and around his eye, worked a little more on this post, took son to his doctor appointment, shopped at two Walmart’s, dropped groceries and son off at home, went and picked up first son from work, and finally arrived back home for evening activities. So here we are finished this post from yesterday right before I run out the door…
life is busy, but full.
Outside my window it is a beautiful, warm, sunny morning and the birds are singing. Bliss.
Right now I am eating maple and brown sugar instant oatmeal (not healthy at all) and working on this post.
Pondering how to avoid Poison Oak rashes when I work clearing more brush. Oh the itchiness. ๐
To read or not to read…to read of course! Currently working through MaryJane’s Ideabook, Cookbook, Lifebook: For the Farmgirl in All of Us, To Darkness Fled (Blood of Kings, #2), The Complete Book of Home Organization, Nowhere, Carolina (Southern Discomfort #2) and Slug Tossing: And Other Adventures of a Reluctant Gardener.
Something fun to share: we bought a new pool! We have to level the area where we want it, set it up, and then make a flagstone base around the ladder and a path to the sidewalk. ๐
Bloggy love goes to The Victorian Letter Writers Guild created by my dear friend, Sarah. Check it out and sign up for a letter writing pal. ๐
To Do List for this week:

Doctors visits for two thanks to poison oak malady.
Find a solution for mail organization
Find a file solution
Dogs have a grooming appointment
Homeschool round up
More things as I have time ๐
Creative craftiness shall be erm hmmm I know what I should work on, but…let’s see what happens here.
Looking forward to my hubby taking time off from work this week so I get my hunk hanging around more. Woohoo!
Looking around the house reminds me that I need to finish finding homes for things. We’ve lived here for about a year and a half and there are things to finish sorting through.
I was gone for a week, and these guys were so happy to see me. From left to right we have Prince Caspian, Lord Gallifrey and my mom-in-love’s Count Zeke.
They love raisins as a treat and were very gentlemanly about it. Usually they are a bit more shove and push over them.
My hunky hubby is breaking things up so we can level this area for an above ground pool. Some of us originally set out pooling our money for the biggest toddler pool we could find and somehow it morphed into a rather decent sized pool. I’m so glad my hubby is a good sport about these capers.
Next step will be adding the till to the tractor.
These two dogs love each other. Davey, the white standard poodle is going to be 14 in August, and Jema is 2 or 3 I believe. She’s hanging out here until my daughter and her hubby find a house to rent. ๐
What I’m wearing today is a thin long sleeved shirt to cover the poison oak and shorts because it’s hitting high 80s / low 90s today!
One of my simple pleasures is a cuppa tea. I love both hot and iced tea…herbal, English or Irish Breakfast…no Chai for me, but most teas are wonderful treats.
On my prayer list is definitely for this Poison Oak to go! Both Jake (my 14 year old son) and I have a bad case of it. Ugh.
