Do You Parent Angry? Part 1
Do You Parent Angry? Part 2
I Will Not Parent Angry Challenge
We’ve reached the end of the two week challenge, yet I believe it’s only the beginning actually. I’ll explain in a few minutes.
Results
So how did I do? I failed. I succeeded. There were moments when I failed miserably. Those moments shine a light on how flawed and sinful my flesh is when not tempered by the Spirit. Yet, I consider this challenge a success. I was more aware of my angry expressions or tone of voice. I apologized more. I developed a greater motivation to overcome in this area.
Only the Beginning
Working through this challenge the past two weeks has shown me how ingrained some habits have become – habits I need to change. I plan to keep the challenge button in my sidebar to remind me to not parent angry. To keep battling the urge to become impatient, irritable, ugly in my parenting. Periodically, I will take up this challenge for a concentrated two week effort in squelching angry parenting.
The Wrap Up
I’ve pondered this topic a lot the past two weeks, and I think part of the problem is that I am not fully present as a mom. I’d like to explore that idea more in a future post.
So how did you do? What did you struggle with? Share your wrap up post in the linky below. Make sure you link up with your actual wrap up post, so we can find it easier. I’ll be leaving this linky open for the year, so if you’d like to take up the challenge again at some point, feel free to write another wrap up post, and link up again.
This challenge can be taken at any time, and as many times as you desire.
