Light ebbs through the cracks of the hidden places in my heart. Those places where I don’t want to face the truth. Those places where I want to hide.
God’s light slips through, shining light in the darkness. Showing me the ugly, dirty blemishes still soiling my soul. He washes me in light, gently scrubbing away each layer of filth – getting to the clean. Laid bare, I am vulnerable.
Open to his love, his truth, I am able to be used for his glory. It’s in my vulnerability that my heart shines the brightest; better able to reflect his light to all around me.

The light can be so . . . invasive – healing, and probing and gentle, and harsh all at the same time.
Beautiful imagery!

Audra Marie, I enjoyed what you said about light shining into your heart. I could totally relate to what you were saying. In fact, I wrote something very similiar to your post about light and dark. I loved this, “Godโs light slips through, shining light in the darkness. Showing me the ugly, dirty blemishes still soiling my soul. He washes me in light, gently scrubbing away each layer of filth โ getting to the clean. Laid bare, I am vulnerable. ”
Thank you for sharing your heart.

Several writers this Friday have mentioned the cracks that the light comes through. Never thought about light and cracks and Christ. Something to ponder. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Jessie. So many times we focus on the end result, but God’s more interested in the journey there. ๐
