I can so relate to the mom in this picture. Leading up to this review, part of me thought I should set up a schedule, and the other part said, “No way!” So when I found out I’d be reading Managing My Minutes: Do I Really Need To? by Lorrie Flem, it was with interest. Which side of me would win out?
Lorrie starts out sharing biblical stories with application to why scheduling is important, and what our first priority should be. It’s hard to argue with scripture. Does the bible actually say you must schedule? Well, no, but it shows that God is a God of order, and through the scriptures she shares, you can see why a schedule is a necessary tool.
Not only does Lorrie use scriptures, but she shares her own stories. Again, I found so much encouragement from her examples. She covers a great deal of the why we should have a schedule not just for us, but for our children, too. She also counters objections some people (not me – ahem) give to scheduling. Finally she clearly explains the difference between schedules and routines, and when they are applicable.
We don’t get into the actual how to set up a schedule in this book because it’s only part one in a three part scheduling bundle. This book lays a solid foundation for why we need one. I’m looking forward to seeing what the next two parts contain. I have a sneaky feeling she’s won me over to scheduling.
The Scheduling Bundle will be available soon on her website, Eternal Encouragement Magazine.

I can relate to this photo as well! Scheduling has always been a desire, but I think I’ll finally complete one this year.
