I stumbled across this book on someone’s blog, and planned to get it soon. Imagine my delight when I saw it listed for review.
I’m one of those strange women who finds the Proverbs 31 passage inspiring. I love reading it, and pondering how I might someday reap the reward of a job well done as wife and mom. Do I fail in these areas? Often. Thank goodness God is a wonderful and patient teacher as I pursue wanting more of Him, and more of who He has made me to be.
Pursuit of Proverbs 31 is a short read at 145 pages, but full of encouragement and application. Amy showed me the difference between priority and authority in a whole new way that makes a lot of sense. I also love how she explains that the Proverbs 31 woman is an ideal rather than an actual woman.
Now, if you are looking for an in-depth look at Proverbs 31, this is not it. Rather, Amy takes the essence of Proverbs 31, explains what that might look like, and how to keep our focus on God in the day to day. Amy prompts you to dig deeper into the word, ask yourself some thought provoking questions (great time to journal), and get before your Heavenly Father in prayer.
Faith, marriage, mothering, homemaking…these topics have been on my heart a lot lately, so I’ve been diving into related books. It’s wonderful to reaffirm God’s direction in my life along with learning new tips to apply. I thoroughly enjoyed this ebook, and I’ll be going back through to put some of her ideas into practice.
I want to encourage you as you read these types of books, be sure to ask God what He wants you to add or subtract to bring about His ultimate plan for you and your family. If you’d like to read the book, Pursuit of Proverbs 31 for kindle is available on Amazon. You can also get it in PDF form by clicking on the book cover above.
About the author:
I’m an indie author, web publisher, blogging, digital publishing, and social media consultant, and I am a small business owner but my favorite job is being a wife to Ryan and mama to my four, rowdy boys!
Most of all, I’m just me. I make mistakes (quite often). I don’t always get it right. Hopefully I learn my lesson the first time. If not, I have an awesome savior who doesn’t give up on me.
