April showers bring May flowers – and lots of rainy days for reading! My daughter and I decided to help feed our love of books and reading challenges by creating our own. So here it is without further delay:
When? March 20th – June 19th
What? Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, will be to read the word SPRING plus we’ve added three bonus mini challenges. How do you read the word Spring? Good question. You have three options:
a. Read books where the first word in the title begins with each letter in the word SPRING.
b. Read books where the authors’ first names begin with each letter in the word SPRING.
c. Read books where the authors’ last names begin with each letter in the word SPRING.
Bonus:
1. Read a book with the name of a flower in the title.
2. Read a book with a flower(s) on the cover.
3. Read a book where the main character’s name is the name of a flower.
Example:
S ~ Sheriff’s Surrender, The by Susan Page Davis or Susan Page Davis, The Sheriff’s Surrender or Stevenson, Robert Louis – Treasure Island
P ~
R ~
I ~
N ~
G ~
Nifty Details:
~ Write a blog post sharing which option you choose. Please include the banner above with a link back to this post.
~ Link your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post) so we can visit.
~ Crossovers are fine, rereads are fine, but please only include books read during the dates posted.
~ Fiction, non-fiction, ebooks, electronic readers, audio – any book format is fine. You can even read books to your kids for this challenge if you’d like.
~ Have fun reading! There are nine books in total when you shoot for the bonus ones, too.
~ Optional: if you’d like to review any or all of the books you read for this challenge, I will have a link up for reviews sometime soon. Keep an eye out for it.
~ You may sign up at any time, but only include books read during the time frame posted.

Maybe you can do the Spring Reading Challenge by reading books to the kids lol. That’s a nice size list. ๐

I haven’t officially stated here that I’m doing this challenge! I am using a combination of Title, Authors first name or Authors last name, but i was able to come up with something for each letter from my current list of books i want to read. I’ve completed 2, but i’m not completely sure what letter they will be by the end. I’ll post my list at the end of challenge…as i’ve already swapped out 2 of my choices just the past couple days! hehe

Thanks for joining the reading challenge, Bev. ๐

Hi! I love the idea. I think I’m going to mix the three options too, so it’s easier to find books for every letter^^
Audra Marie says
So glad to have you join us! Be sure to write a post about it, and link here so we can follow your progress. ๐

Here’s my completed reading list for the SPRING Challenge:
S~ Stay Organized and Get Things Done by Vook
P~ Pajama School- stories from the life of a homeschool graduate by Natalie Wickham
R~ Reinventing Leona by Lynne Gentry
I~ I Love Mormons: A New Way to Share Christ with Latter-day Saints by David L. Rowe
N~ The Narrow Path by Gail Sattler
G~ Great Parents, Lousy Lovers by Gary Smalley & Ted Cunningham
Thank you for the Challenge. I tend to collect *free Kindle books, then can’t decide where to focus when picking one to actually read. I rarely make time to read fiction and I tend to browse non-fiction, it felt good to see the completed list and the variety of choices I read.

I thought I had signed up for this challenge in late April, but I guess I forgot that step. I have already read 5 books for the challenge and am looking for a mystery for the letter N (in my TBR stacks).
Thanks for this challenge.
