I love to use a couple different translations of the Bible when I study, and the three I am drawn to are the ESV, NASB, and NLT. The New Living Translation is wonderful when reading to children, too. My current NLT is a well used bible handed down from my parents. I love it, but I needed a new one. When I saw this gorgeous bible from Hendrickson Publishers, I had to sign up to review it.
The Everyday Matters Bible for Women not only has a beautiful cover, but the inside pages have pretty flourishes and details making it a delight to look at. But what really makes this unique, is the added features geared toward women who want encouragement in their spiritual walk.
There are 24 spiritual disciplines, or practices, represented by a colorful icon throughout the bible. Each discipline is broken down into four categories to explore: Everyday Matters, Everyday Profiles, Everyday Q&A’s, and Everyday Reflections.
From the website:
• Everyday Matters: Two-page articles introduce major themes and focus on an essential part of understanding and practicing a discipline.
• Everyday Profiles: Profiles of twenty-five Biblical women highlight a particular discipline.
• Everyday Q & A’s: Short articles delve into a difficult aspect of the spiritual practice and offer practical help on incorporating the discipline into your daily life.
• Everyday Reflections: Selections illustrate ways to personalize and apply God’s Word to your own situation.
All of the Spiritual Disciplines are indexed in the back which helps if you want to study each discipline one at a time. In fact, I’m using this for my devotions at the moment, and absolutely love it for this. There are over 300 articles and features by more than 140 well-known Christian leaders and writers. Some of the names I recognize (and love to read their work) include: Sally Clarkson, Priscilla Shirer, Joni Eareckson Tada, Ann Voskamp, and Sheila Walsh.
There is also a list of resources for further reading and a How To Use This Bible in a Small Group Study guide in the back. The Everyday Matters Bible for Women would be a wonderful addition to your bible studies and quiet times. You can find it in bookstores, major retailers and online at Christian Books (CBD.com) and Amazon. You can also find out more on the Everyday Matters Bible facebook page and Twitter.

I was reviewing for a homeschool review crew at the time, but I haven’t reviewed in a while now. You could try googling how to review Christian products and see if any leads pop up. 🙂
