Thank you Karen Blaha for the use of your photo.
It’s time for the second mini-challenge in the “Summer is Flying By” Reading Challenge! Don’t forget: last week’s challenge, It Begins With Summer, can be done at anytime during the challenge (or long after if you stumble across it later).
Remember, the mini-challenges are not a requirement to be eligible for the prize. All you need is a kick-off post linked up before the linky closes and a wrap-up post linked up (linky not posted yet for these) at the end before the deadline for the drawing.
Here is Mini-Challenge #2:
Today’s mini-challenge is to read a book that is not in your typical genre. That’s right, this is a challenge to stretch you a little bit. Reach outside of your comfort zone, and pick a genre you usually don’t read. If you need ideas, do a Google search for types of genres, and see if they have some examples.
Again, this can be a book, eBook, children’s book (your kids would love that), fiction, or non-fiction. We’re not picky! We think the mini-challenges will be fun, and we hope you join in at least some of them. Remember, new mini-challenges come out each Friday. You might want to subscribe so you don’t miss any of the mini-challenges or the finale. The subscription box is over in the sidebar to the right at the top.
You can also blog along the way if you’d like, but please add a link to the comments, so we can come read about your progress and what books you’re reading. We can always use new book suggestions! If you blog about a specific mini-challenge, add a link to the comments for that mini-challenge’s post. For example, if you choose to blog about today’s challenge, come back and link in the comments on this here post. Clear as a book cover?
Now, have some reading fun!!
Here’s a button if you want one for your blog post and/or sidebar:

This is DEFINITELY a challenge for me! My reading time is so limited that I’m really picky about only reading what I really love. So…I’ll be thinking on this one and see what I can come up with. Actually, that book about Spam might be just the thing!

How’s the book on Spam?
Mrs. Sarah Coller says
I thought I left a comment..oops! So, I decided not to read the SPAM book…just wasn’t my style. Ha!

I just can’t imagine why not lol. I’m reading one of Jane Austen’s books for this. ๐

This will be a tough one. There aren’t many genres that I avoid – and the ones I do avoid, I feel I have good reason to! LOL You’ve got me thinking though!

Just remember, you’re choosing one you don’t read as often, so it doesn’t have to be one you avoid. Just one you don’t read as much as the others. ๐

Thanks for this reading challenge. I did not plan to participate in this mini challenge but just happened to be reading books outside my normal genre preference. Thanks for hosting this challenge!

Isn’t it great when books we are already reading can fit a challenge, too. ๐
