I cannot believe tomorrow is November 1st! The past couple of weeks have been a little crazy and a grand mix of both ups and downs. Mostly ups though. We spent the last couple of weeks in our old house with no furniture although we did keep out some mattresses. and the TV.
It ended up being two kids and two cats hanging with me, and two kids and our dog went on with dad to stay at their older sister’s place. A family divided is HARD. We sure missed being together, but knew it wouldn’t be long. Really, God got us through even though the enemy came at us. I’m sure I’ll share that story at some point, but not today. No, definitely not a story for today.
But the day for closing on our house did come (late), and we used the money to purchase a new to us travel trailer. I’ve wanted one for years, and can’t wait to take the kids camping next year. There are four bunk beds in the back and then our queen bed is at the other end. If we need more sleeping room, we can always fold down the table and the sofa into extra beds. We actually do this occasionally to watch TV. We have had some interesting mishaps like freezing the first night because we didn’t realize we needed the propane to heat things up. And then we froze the second night when we ran out of propane. You have to just laugh really.
It is also a little disconcerting the first time you are using the loo and little rain drops land on you. We now have everyone trained to raise and lower the vents in the roof as the weather deems. We have a wonderful RV park with lots of things for the family to do, and space for the kids and the dog to run. There are Frisbee Golf baskets, a playground, a pool (too cold now), a pool table and more.
We quickly signed up with a nearby homeschooling co’op and made some new friends which definitely helps you settle in a bit. The kids love their classes (well, the teen tolerates his classes lol), and really like their new friends.
And we found a new home. As soon as I stepped out of the car, I felt wrapped in peace. And the inside of the house felt peaceful, too. I love it. The rooms are spacious and when I turned around in the kitchen, I found a TARDIS door!! Hello! I squealed. You have to be a Doctor Who fan to know what that is, but any Whovian would be ecstatic.
Then, I opened a closet door and saw a man standing there! I quickly shut it, and looked at everyone and said, “There is a man in closet. A man in the closet!” Then my brain caught up to the image and I screamed: “David Tennant is in the closet!!” I whipped that thing back opened and laughed. A life size cut out of my favorite doctor stood there. We all laughed over that. I can’t wait to show you all around my new home. Closing will be about mid-December if all goes on time.
The funny thing? We met the owners and I’ve gotten to know the mom. We have a lot in common, and have struck up a friendship. Not the usual thing, but hey, I’m going with it. I’m pretty sure our realtors think we are nuts. She’s pretty awesome, and I look forward to our next visit.

It has been absolutely wonderful seeing the grandbabies, and I can’t wait until they are running around our house both inside and outside. They are going to love it. They are growing so fast and such a delight to snuggle and play with them both. I can’t wait until their great-grandmas both get to meet them. One of which will be moving in with us soon. Bob’s mom is joining our home shortly after we get in there. It will be wonderful having her there.
It is so beautiful out here. We are definitely blessed. It has been a challenge with my seizures increasing and my son possibly having a tic disorder. Even more so because we can’t fully eat the way we need to in order to heal our bodies and brains. But God really is so much bigger than all of this. I’m finding my way back to focusing more on Him and less on the circumstances.
Now…what have you been up to? What’s new with you?
