When God Says Wait

I’m joining the Five Minute Friday community where we set a timer for five minutes, and free write on the given word prompt until the timer goes off…

What have I learned in this waiting God asked of me? I learned He is right here in the waiting with me. Not only is He right here, but He is also preparing the way ahead.

In this case, I have been waiting to join my husband five hours away.
I’ve been waiting for our new home.
Waiting for the next faze of our life together.

So often I longed for God to release me.

In the beginning, I was patient in the waiting. But as the days and months wore on, I began to long for it to be over.

Yet, I felt God right there with me.

I knew He wanted me to wait because the gift He was preparing would be a blessing for us. Each one of us as I have often prayed.

I learned to rest and trust that He knew the perfect time to end this waiting period…the time where He completed what He was preparing for my family.
I learned to trust and to allow my faith to deepen.
I learned to wait on the Lord.

And now? Now the waiting is coming to an end, and I’m excited to see what He has waiting for us…

Stop.

There is so much to learn in the waiting. It can be a beautiful time of resting in Him, deepening your faith, learning to trust Him and even be excited for what He has in store for you.
