Wizzy Gizmo sent us their Fast Track Bible Pack New Testament set. My first thought: how can you not be intrigued by a company called Wizzy Gizmo. It’s such a fun name.
The Fast Track Bible Pack New Testament set can be used by all ages in a variety of ways. The set consists of twenty-seven cards (one for each book in the New Testament) plus the cover card. The cover card has the basic information such as description, copyright, scripture version used, etc. on the front. The back of the cover card lists each book of the New Testament, it’s theme, date written, author and how many chapters. It’s a handy overview perfect for quick drills and fact checking.
The rest of the cards each cover one book of the New Testament. On the front of the cards, you will find a summary, number of chapters, author information, date of writing, a verse, and the theme all related to that book.
There’s a lot more on the back of each card, too. You’ll find the theme, a small comment on the theme, an outline (breaks the chapters down into sections like sub-themes), key chapters, key passages, key doctrines, and key people, again, all related to that book.
There really is a lot packed into these reference cards.

Since our summer has been a series of unfortunate events, we used this in an exploratory mode. I read the overview on the front, and then had them guess how many chapters were in the book, and who the author was for each. Then I read the date it was written and the theme. On the back, I asked them if they knew who might be a key person, and then told them who the key people were. That’s pretty much all we did at this point. Now…what will we be doing? Oh my. There is so much learning to be had with these things.
First, there are some wonderful suggestions for use suitable for various age groups (simple for young ones, and building in difficulty as their age increases) on the webpage for these cards. Just scroll down and you will see it along with nice, big sample pictures. I know my pictures are wonderful (hehe), but you can read the words on the sample pictures clearly.
I plan on spending a week on each card (recommended) using the ideas from the webpage for my kids according to their ages. We will be drilling, reading, memorizing, narrating (love Charlotte Mason), meditating, and discussing each book of the New Testament. On top of those ideas, I’m going to have my kids do copywork, draw pictures and any other memory tricks I think of along the way to help memorize some of the passages and key information. Each week, we will do a quick review of some previous cards to keep the information cemented in their memory. And when we get to Revelation? We can start over again memorizing even more, and reaffirming what was already learned.
Our family has Kairos time, which is what I named our family Circle Time, and this will fit in well with both our morning and our evening Kairos times.

We really enjoyed getting to know these cards, learning some interesting things, and we look forward to diving deeper with them as we buckle down into study mode. These are really handy cards to have around. It’s important to know our bible, and working with these cards will not only give a great overview, but will help you find key passages of scripture and other key information.
You never know when you need that information, and taking the time to memorize it means you have it in your brain to recall as needed. I know I can sometimes take my bible for granted because I have easy access to it. In fact, I have a few of them lying around. But what if someday that were to change? Wouldn’t it be prudent to have it stored in my memory banks to draw upon? Plus, what if I’m ministering to someone, and I don’t have a bible handy? Or what if I do have one handy, but don’t know where to quickly find what I need? I could go on with reasons.
Bottom line, we need to know the scriptures intimately, and this is a great tool to help you and your kids learn some key things about this treasure of a book. Oh, and the kids found the information fun to learn, and really like the cards, too. A win for us.
The Fast Track Bible Pack New Testament set costs $14.99 which I think is a great price for all the information packed into these cards.
