The Whimsical Wednesday Link Up Party can be found at the end of this post! I’d love to come see your projects!
I went away to a scrapbook retreat this past weekend. As we pulled into the little town of Joseph, the mountain top looked like it was floating in the air. It is so beautiful up there. I had an awesome time hanging out with wonderful women, sneaking away for time alone with my thoughts and prayers, and seeing a gorgeous view of the mountains outside my yurt. Throw in some wildlife, scrapped pages and a small workshop, and it was a perfect mix of work and play. I ended up getting pretty sick on my trip, but I did manage two layouts along with teaching a workshop, and making a sample for it.
This layout is so sweet. I’ll put two 6×4 photos on the left side, and one 4×6 photo on the right. Add a touch of journaling on the tag, and I’ll be done. I put this one together with my youngest daughter in mind, and will be doing a photo shoot soon.
I had my youngest son in mind for this layout. Again, photo shoot will be scheduled soon. On the left side, I’ll add a 6×6 photo, and on the right side, I’ll add three 3×4 photos down the edge. Journaling will go around the edge along with some faux stitching.
I’ll post the finished photos once the weather cooperates, and we can do a mini fashion shoot.
Scraplifting Tips:
For the You & Me layouts, the papers, stamps, and Irresistables (chipboard) came in a CTMH kit I bought last year. It’s no longer available, but you can certainly substitute, and come up with equally adorable layouts. Typeset has some similar paper. There are a variety of paper packs that would work for girls, boys, or both.
There are some pretty flourishes in the Borders, Backgrounds, and Shapes section of my store. Or you can use a completely different kind of stamp, and change it up a bit. You can also find tag stamps for journaling or adding a cute saying. There is a wide variety of stamps from cute to beautiful.
You can find similar die-cuts including Irresistables, and a variety of embellishments. I used the Dark Chocolate Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and the Opaques Mocha Adhesive Gems on both of these layouts.
Sometimes I build the layout around my photos, but other times I take the photos to go with the layout. Our workshops on the go make it so easy to scrap both ways. Each kit comes with everything you need including a layout guide to put together some gorgeous layouts. I usually learn something new to apply to other projects. I don’t always follow the guides 100% – I tend to tweak things for my own personal touch.
You are welcome to shop from my store, or dig through your supplies, and make similar layouts. I’d love to see what you do! If the linky is closed, add your link to the comments.
Need more ideas? Visit the CTMH TV page for some fun how-to videos. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I will do my best to answer them.

Scrapbooking retreats? What special magic is that? Sigh. If only I had the mental attention span for a whole book but I have resigned myself to using scrapping skills to make cute cards.

Court – one page at a time! I don’t have a lot done, but have had fun with what I have got done. If you have any posts about your cards (or anything else creative), you should link them up on Whimsical Wednesday. It’s still open. 🙂
